Cookie Policy

1 Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how Strategic Land & Acquisition Limited t/a Value My Land ("we", "us" or "our") uses cookies and similar storage and access technologies on our website. Strictly necessary technologies may be used where they are essential to provide the website, protect its security or process a request you make. Optional technologies, including analytics, functional or advertising technologies, will only be activated after you make a clear choice through our cookie controls. We do not treat continued browsing, silence, inactivity or browser settings alone as consent to optional cookies.

2 What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies may include local storage, pixels, tags and scripts that store information on, or access information from, your device. These technologies can support essential website functions, remember choices and, where you agree, help us understand how the website is used.

3 Cookies and Similar Technologies We Use

  • Strictly necessary technologies: First-party session, security and form-protection technologies may be used by Strategic Land & Acquisition Limited to keep the website secure, maintain a session, support navigation and protect form submissions. They are retained only for the session or for the shortest period reasonably necessary for the relevant function.
  • Cookie preference technology: Where our consent tool stores your choice, a first-party cookie or local-storage entry may be used to remember whether you accepted, rejected or customised optional technologies. Its purpose and duration are shown in the cookie settings panel.
  • Google Analytics: Where enabled, Google LLC provides analytics technology using first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_<container-id>. These help distinguish users and maintain session information so that we can understand visits and interactions in aggregate. The default cookie duration may be up to two years, subject to browser limits and our configuration. Google Analytics is only activated after you consent to analytics technologies.
  • Functional technologies: These may remember non-essential preferences or support optional website features. Any provider, technology name, purpose and duration must be shown in the cookie settings panel before the technology is activated, and consent will be requested unless a legal exception applies.
  • Advertising measurement – OpenAI Measurement Pixel: Where you consent to advertising measurement, we use the OpenAI Measurement Pixel supplied by OpenAI to measure whether a visit originating from a ChatGPT advertisement later results in an enquiry. The Pixel can capture the OpenAI click reference (oppref) from the landing-page URL and store it in a first-party __oppref cookie so that a later conversion can be attributed to the relevant ad. The Pixel is not loaded for advertising measurement unless you have granted the relevant consent.

4 Cookie Register and Third Parties

The cookie settings panel displayed on the website is the live control for optional technologies. Our current advertising measurement provider is OpenAI. When advertising measurement consent is granted, the OpenAI Measurement Pixel may use the first-party __oppref cookie to retain the privacy-preserving oppref click reference and may send conversion-event information such as the event type, page origin and event time to OpenAI. The exact lifetime of OpenAI measurement storage may depend on the current Pixel and attribution configuration, so we do not state a fixed duration that could become inaccurate. Where Automatic Advanced Matching is enabled in OpenAI Ads Manager, supported information entered into website forms may be normalised and hashed in the browser using SHA-256 before the resulting hash is included with conversion events; raw customer information is not sent through Automatic Advanced Matching. Optional technologies are not activated merely because you continue browsing.

Further information about OpenAI's handling of personal data is available in the OpenAI Privacy Policy.

5 Managing Your Cookie Choices

When our cookie banner is displayed, you may accept, reject or customise optional technologies. You can change or withdraw your choice later by reopening the cookie settings control where it is available. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. You can also manage cookies through your browser, although browser settings do not replace the consent controls for optional technologies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the website from working correctly.

General information about browser controls is available from About Cookies and All About Cookies.

6 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when the technologies we use, our consent controls or the law changes. Any revised version will be posted on this page and the "Last updated" date will be amended.
